I am so absorbed in these books I've been reading lately that I've gone off and done the unthinkable. I've tried to calculate how much reading I have left. And now I know why there are lists of the top 100 books as opposed to the top 10,000 books. There's not enough time.

One of my favorite books is the novel Rain by Kirsty Gunn. It is ranked 1,968,775 in Amazon.

I don't have 1.9 million books left in me. If I could do a book a week, I might hit 2,087. The Half Blood Prince is currently at 2,251.

Every one has to stop writing right now for the next 40 years just so I can catch up with Harry fucking Potter. Plus I have to eke out another 2 or 3 years of life.

I have waited so long. I can't go on like this. Does it itch?
